Devayani

Devayani, a Mumbai-born Keralite girl first thought of making her film entry in Bollywood.She had signed up a film called "Goyal" in Hindi which never saw the light of the day. For devayani, then happened, "Thottal Chinungi' and a sexy dance sequence in "Sivasakthi", followed by the sensational "Kadhal Kottai". Devayani was reborn as " Goddess of love" after the film was a hit. Tamil audience never complained about her type-cast roles, instead they rooted for her in culture-conscious and more feminine roles.She already has completed her first fifty films from acting in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu films.

Meera Jasmine

Jasmine Mary Josephy - or more popularly known as Meera Jasmine was born on 15 February 1984. Born and brought up in Kuttappuzha, Thiruvalla, Kerala. She has not family background neither she is from the family of actors! She was not a model or participated in beauty pageants like Trisha or Namitha. She was not known to anybody until she was introduced by Lohithadas in Malayalam movie Soothradharan in 2001. Though film bombed, but she got noticed.

She accepted movies offers despite opposition from her father. Meera joined the film industry without much expectation. Meera was ready to return to her studies if her films fails. Despite her debut failure she was noticed and offered movies after Soothradharan. And she went to receive National Award - apart from 4 Filmfare Awards - Best Female Debut (Run, Tamil) 2002, Best Actress (Malayalam) in 2003, 2006 and 2008.

Meera also received several Kerala State Awards. She has acted in a dozen Malayalam films. She is simple, but good looking actress. Never acted in glamour roles! Nation Award for Best Actress was given to her for excellent portrayal of a 15-year-old Muslim girl married to an older man. She was pitted against contenders like Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen. She has paired against all big stars in Malayalam - Mohanlal, Dileep, Mammootty etc.

She gave some successful Tamil movies as well. After the success of Run in 2002, she worked with Mani Ratnman's Aayudha Ezhuthu. Mercury Pookkal was another successful movie. She has acted with Dhanush, Vijayakant, Bharath.

She is famous in Telugu film industry too. Her debut film was dubbed from Tamil, Run. Later in 2004 she gave some good films in Telugu as "Ammayi Bagundi" and "Gudumba Shankar". She also worked in Kannada film industry... co-starring with Puneet Rajkumar in Maurya. Her another Kannada film Arrasu is also a hit. Bhadra (Telugu) with Ravi Teja is the biggest hit in Telugu. Her other Telugu films are Raraju, Maharadhi, Yamagola Malli Modalaindi, Gorintaku and Maa Aayana Chantipilladu, in which she is paired for a second time with Sivaji.

She is in love with U. Rajesh, a mandolin artist and they planning to marry soon.

She draw ire from devotees of Lord Raja Rajeshwara Temple in Kerala when she prayed and bowed to the Lord. Here non-Hindus are prohibited. The controversy sparked off a protest by devotees. Later she paid ten thousand as penalty to temple authorities.

Bhumika

Bhumika Chawla is born into a Army Officer's home and hence traveled across India. She did her schooling in Delhi and moved to Mumbai in 1997 to pursue her career. As student, she did some ads and appeared in a TV serial & a music video. This helped her in getting her first break in movies.

Born on 21 August 1978, her birth name is Rachna and she is also known as Gudiya.

She start her career in Tollywood film YUVAKUDU (2000) opposite Sumanth. But Bhumika got recognized in the second Telugu movie KHUSHI (2001), starred opposite Pawn Kalyan. The movie was big success at the box office. Telugu movies flooded following the success of KHUSHI. Offers came from Kollywood as well.

Another super success was her Hindi film TERE NAAM (2003) opposite big star Salman Khan which is a super hit movie making highest collection that year.

She also starred opposite Gurdas Mann in a Punjabi movie called YAARIYAN in 2008. She has also worked in a Bhojpuri film.

Bhumika Chawla married Bharat Thakur on October 21 2007. She is pure vegetarian.

Bhavana

Bhavana Balachandran is a very active South Indian Actress working simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies. Bhavana is born on 6 June 1986 in Thrissur, Kerala and is daughter of Asst. cinematographer G. Balanchandran Menon and Pushpa. Her original is Karthika, has one brother Jayadev settled in Vancouver, Canada.

She ventured into movies through NAMMAL by Kamal, opposite several newcomers like Siddharth, Jishnu, Renuka. The movie was a big success and won critical acclaim and several awards. Following success of NAMMAL, she got several offiers in Malayalam and acted with almost all top actors of the industry including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya & Dileep. She became part of all the successful movies that were releasing in 2003 - Chronic Bachelor, CID Moosa, etc. She got state award and Film Fare Award for her role in Daivanamathil in 2006.

Chinthamani Koacase and CHESS were big successful movies that were released in 2006.

Bhavana got several offers from Tamil films - she has to refuse them due to her busy schedule in Malayalam. Her first Tamil film originally offered was Koodal Nagar opposite Bharath - but due to technical difficulties it was released very late in year April 2007. In a way, her first Tamil release was Chithiram Pesuthadi - which is huge success. Offers from Kollywood flooded. She did Kizhakku Kadalkari Salai, Veyyil. The later was again big success and her character Meenakshi won the hearts of both fans and critics. She also had a film with Madhavan in ARYA.

She is now waiting for release of "Jeyamkondann" against Nithin in Telugu.

She still has a long way to go in South Indian Film Industry.
